Compliance with Australian Standards, AUSTROADS, and Transport for NSW guidelines

Australian Standards contain guidance for design of parking for bicycles, cars, disability spaces and trucks.
AUSTROADS provides guidance for road design.
Transport for NSW specifies its’ requirements via technical directions and guidelines.
The AUSTROADS and Transport for NSW guidelines relate to changes that may be required to the external road system arising from the traffic impacts of the development (e.g. traffic lights or a pedestrian crossing).
The Australian Standards provide guidance for access and conditions within
the site.
Compliance assessment may be required post DA approval for large developments, particularly where the approval required modified plans. Otherwise, they are typically assessed as part of the design prior to submission of a DA.
